Safe Ministry

At Seaforth Anglican Church we believe that all people are precious and deserving of love and care, especially the most vulnerable among us. Therefore, we have a special responsibility to ensure that the vulnerable are cared for in a safe environment. We take our responsibilities in this regard very seriously and aim for the highest standards of “Safe Ministry” (Child and vulnerable adult protection). Seaforth Anglican supports and abides by the Anglican Diocese of Sydney’s Safe Ministry Journey policies.

Working With Children Checks (WWCC)
All volunteers and paid members of staff who work with children have a unique WWCC number, which is now a statutory obligation in New South Wales. This WWCC number verifies that a person has been cleared to work with children.

Safe Ministry (Child & vulnerable adult protection ) Training
All volunteers and paid members of staff who work with children have received hands-on training in safe ministry policies and procedures, and are accredited by Anglican Youthworks (the accrediting body for Safe Ministry training in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney). This training and accreditation is renewed every three years.

Supervision
During all child-related activities and ministries, children are supervised by adults, and best practice is observed in relation to the ratio of adults to children.
